Project Description

As a member of the multi-disciplinary design team for the Audubon Institute, Sardi played a key role in creating the concept for the Aquarium of the Americas. The Aquarium, which has retained its position as one of the most successful aquariums in the world for both its exhibits and its research, includes aquatic environments featuring sea and river life across the Americas, from a Caribbean Reef exhibit to one of the first aquatic tunnels to an Amazon River experience in a climatically controlled biosphere.

Among a variety of venue design initiatives, Sardi designed all interior environments of the Aquarium’s public areas and back-of-house functions, from layouts to finishes, for the research, conference and the public facilities for the project.
