Project Description

For the Alleé of fifty foot tall Sycamore’s lining National Harbor’s 4 block shopping Promenade, “The American Way,” Sardi developed a unique programmable LED fixture, the “Marcelli”.
The Marcelli’s were designed to allow for full show programming integration synch at the individual fixture level. Each of the Marcelli’s respond to the show control signal chain with pattern, color and brightness changes in synchronization to musical scores, program protocols and other systems inputs for hourly shows, as well as festival and holiday programs. The Marcelli’s also provide ambient light using a variety of patterns to add a sense of enchantment to the street. The hexagonal, acrylic form was designed to create a spectral halo, allowing fewer fixtures per tree to create the desired effect.
