Sardi Design was contracted by Maguire Properties to develop a concept to re-position its signature Los Angeles building as the icon of downtown L.A. Using a latticework of programmable LED’s embedded in the window mullions of the 62 story structure, Sardi created the opportunity to have the building animated with a variety of expressive patterns across the year. Programming included a New Year’s Eve experience designed to overtake New York’s Times Square “Ball”, and an LED illumination program coordinated with a symphony commissioned for the rebirth of the downtown. The project team included MRA International, First Circle Lighting, Moment Factory & Barco Engineering.
